Wednesday's review went well. I feared I'd have a lady prof reviewing me who seems to hate my existence, but no! Huzzah, it was not so. Instead, I got two profs who were all laid back and groovy. Totally keen on guiding me towards being more refined, but really digging my work. Aside from two pieces from my semester, three pieces from this dA gallery (I mixed in anything I'd done from September-May both in and out of class in my portfolio for the evaluation) are up for consideration in the student show.


I really hope they make it in and sell.

Right now I feel so motivated to work my ass off and achieve great things during the next four months of my summer holiday.

In other news, I'll be submitting random work all weekend long, including some new stuff from my latest sketchbook as well as more shoe design brainstorms and a whole bunch of new jewelry, accessories, and some sticker/magnet/charm designs. I think there will be three more sets of stuff like that. Some of it very 80's/candy inspired, some very sweet/cakey inspired. A lot of it without faces, too.

Last Monday I finally got out and about and booked it to The Necto in Ann Arbor. Got kind of trashed, danced all night, and woke up the next day with a bit of a hangover. Orange juice knocked it right out for me, though. So everything's groovy. I'll be going sober all night there this Monday, though. Hangovers are so unpleasant. I can honestly say I haven't had one for three years.

Monday I'll be making some fuzzy pink leg warmers to wear over some groovy black skinny jeans.

Have you cats seen Forever 21's current collection? It's brilliant. I spent hours in there browsing. I need to work VERY hard now so I can go back and shop like a fool (without dipping into savings).

The store chain left a bad taste in my mouth when they were caught plagerising Gewn Stefani and Diane Von Furstenberg's designs...so I really hope what's in stock isn't more blatant ripping at a less-than-designer price, you know?
